Community Intervention in Zurich in 2 cycles

Cycle 1

A wearable fabric sculpture serves as a canvas for community interaction. Participants are invited to intervene in the artwork in any way they wish using various materials.

The gathering, inspired by traditional women's handiwork meetings, aimed to foster connection and spontaneous, therapeutic expression, allowing participants to channel their feelings into the collective artwork. The focus is on spontaneous, unplanned contributions, similar to automatic writing, allowing participants to express their emotions and the social awkwardness of interacting with strangers. The aim is to foster a sense of connection and catharsis through collaborative art-making.

Cycle 2

The participants are invited to engage in a more embodied participation. The artwork, now a collective creation, evolves from being a canvas to becoming a wearable art piece for multiple people. Participants are asked to wear the sculpture together, physically coming closer and reducing distances between them. By wearing the artwork, they must also "wear" and connect with the person next to them, forming a living, breathing work. The goal is to create a unified, multi-hearted organism that functions through mutual listening and cooperation, temporarily setting aside individual identities.
